All the text and images on this Web site are copyright © 2004 Owl & Dragon Photography unless otherwise noted.

Here are the terms of our blanket license...

Printing of photos for personal use

If you want a copy of one of our images to stick on your fridge or use in a school project or cover a crack in your wall, then please feel free to print anything you like from our site.

Non-commercial Web use of photos

If you have a personal home page or non-commercial Web service, please feel free to use our photographs with hyperlinked credit. Acceptable  is
Photograph Courtesy Owl & Dragon Photography or
hyperlink the image with the attribute of
ALT="Photograph Courtesy Owl & Dragon Photography, Click Here To Visit Us"
That way people know who took the image and also can find our on-line copyright statement. You do not need to pay for usage. Just build the best Web site you can and give it back to the community.

Commercial Web use of photos

If you would like to use our images on a commercial page, then please do the following:
  1. register the URL with us (sending email is fine).
  2. add the hyperlinked credit as above.
You do not need to pay for usage, either, though we reserve the right to deny usage on sites that we find to be truly poisonous or are using the images in a way we deem inappropriate.

If you would like to distinguish yourself from the "get rich-quick artists looking to make a fast buck on the Internet" and you feel that my photography enhances your site, then please make a charitable donation to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and Health Center in Tacoma, The Pierce County Aids Foundation or Pet Haven Humane Society in Nampa following the instructions for donations (so we can put you on our hero list).

Note: remember that most of the images of people on my pages are not model-released. Advertising usage of photos (e.g., brochures, catalogs, print ads) is very different from editorial usage of photos (e.g., newspaper and magazine articles, books). You cannot use images in advertising (e.g., an on-line product brochure or anything else that is selling) without getting a model release from any person whose image is recognizable in the photo. You might also have problems if an image contains a recognizable physical property, e.g., Disneyland. One of the reasons advertisers pay $1000+ for images from stock agencies is that those agencies have generally already gotten the relevant releases.

Bounty

We maintain a list of "Villains" who are using our photographs in an unauthorized manner. If you see one of our images in a magazine or a Web page and there is no credit, then it is almost surely unauthorized. If you are the first person to tell us about it, we'll send you a free print for your wall.

Text and Stories

Please feel free to redistribute via hardcopy or email for noncommercial purposes any of our writings, but please don't break up documents and please attribute the source in such a way that someone can find the most up-to-date version on the Web.

Please do not ever copy any of our (text) content to a public Web server. Link to our pages instead. we guarantee not to break any of your links. The problem with you putting a page on your server is that the search engines will find it and send our readers to your server instead. Thus they will be deprived of our latest content and service innovations.

Use of photos and Web pages in print

If you are doing a story, book, or CD-ROM about the World Wide Web, please feel free to include a page or two of mine under the following conditions:
  1. screen captures must be made from a computer with a 32-bit color video board. (Machines with 8-bit cards produce distorted images and colors.) I will supply traditional prints or transparencies  for reproduction upon request.
  2. the URL must be legible in the capture or separately printed in a caption
  3. a small credit must be printed reading "Web page courtesy Owl & Dragon Photography (dragon@owlandragon.com)" or "Photos courtesy Owl & Dragon Photography (dragon@owlandragon.com)"
  4. send us email informing us of the usage and we will email you back with Snail Mailing instructions so you can send us a copy.
If you simply want to use my photographs to illustrate an article that is not about our Web pages, e.g., you just want a flower photo to go with a story, then that is commercial usage, you are not covered by any of these blanket licenses, and you should send us email with a proposal. An exception to this is free publications put out by non-commercial organizations; you guys can use whatever you want with credit as above.

Thanks to Philip Greenspun for the use of parts of his copyright page. If you you would like to cut and paste all or parts of this page for use on your own copyright page feel free to but  Philip Greenspun has much more information available on his page.

If you are using a text only browser, there is no real content beyond this point only search engine fuel. We travel around the world to photograph architecture, buildings and business portraits. We work in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Brisbane, Milano and Marseille. Where can we Photograph you?

We are commercial, architectural and fine art photographers with a truly all unique style and we want to be your photography studio of choice. Sales is what commercial photography is all about. Illustrative images are about selling a concept

Japan is a very beautiful place and some of the best cameras are made there. Our photographers photograph business and commercial portraits. How would you like people to see your business. Remember Owl & Dragon Photography for your commercial photography assignments. Wollongong is a place I want to visit same with Launceston, Perth, Sidney and Hobart. We do assignment photography but haven't in Australia yet. On the south side, Christchurch, Dundin, Invercargill and Timaru are close to my home climate. It has been my dream to visit New Zealand. Auckland, Wellington and Hastings are calling to me. When I was about ten years old I wanted to move to New Zealand and become a sheep rancher. I seem to have settled for a small flock of barren ewes, each dyed a different color of the rainbow.

As architectural photographer I would love to photograph in Kobenhavn, Stockholm or Helsinki. I think Palma, Roma and Athínai are beautiful but I want to visit Genève, Lausanne, Bern and Zürich. To photograph a corporate report in Wien, Graz, München, Frankfort or Mannheim would make me a happy photographer. I need to visit my family in Glasgow, Manchester or Edinburgh.

Our studio takes portrait Photographs of executives from Osaka, Naha, Tokyo and Numazu in formal business portraits. I really enjoy Anime, Tenchi Muyo is one of my favorite TV shows. I want to capture a beautiful image with Mount Fujiyama in the background. I have wanted to visit Sapporo Hakodate and Niigata the climate is great.
